Fall 1962 – Dianne Roberts & Peggy Keenan originally met while attending Oklahoma Panhandle State University (OPSU) in Goodwell (OK). This lifelong bond was forged in those early classroom years and still holds strong even to this day. It was more like sisterhood than like a business relationship for these two ladies.
 

September 1981 -– The entire legacy was forged in a single, defining moment of reckless courage—born from a defiant dare and sustained by nothing less than an unyielding prayer.
 

With butterflies fluttering in their stomachs and a shared vision in their hearts, Dianne and Peggy walked out of Zigler & Oakes (CPA’s) at 405 S. Main St (Guymon, OK) for the very last time. Taking a monumental leap of faith, they handed in their resignations that afternoon to embark on an uncharted adventure in business and life. They started with humble expectations, completely unaware of the incredible legacy they were about to forge—and the profound, positive ripples of success they would bring to their families, their clients, and the community they loved.
 

Together, they faced the uphill battle shared by all new businesses, but their path was uniquely steep: they were launching Guymon’s very first female-owned accounting firm, Roberts & Keenan, in an industry heavily dominated by men. Though those early years were incredibly lean, failure was never an option for these pioneering women. September 1981 marked a definitive milestone of independence and self-reliance, forged by two of the most hardworking, charitably driven professionals to ever serve the Oklahoma Panhandle.
 

Against all odds, the two aspiring female accountants launched their first office on Main Street inside the historic Couch Office Building. In those early days, the two small offices were remarkably simple and entirely void of computers. Every tax return was painstakingly completed by hand or keyed in using an electronic typewriter. Long before electronic filing became an industry standard, the firm relied strictly on the U.S. Postal Service to dispatch returns to the Internal Revenue Service and state tax commissions.

Since that definitive first year in 1981, Dianne has witnessed a profound and dynamic evolution in the tax processing landscape. She has successfully guided the firm from the era of manual calculations and paper mailings into the digital age, where returns are now crafted using elite, accredited tax software and transmitted securely through instant electronic filing. This rich history underscores a legacy of absolute adaptability and enduring reliability.
 

At the heart of our firm’s foundational values is Dianne Roberts, a woman whose life and career represent a beautiful tapestry of business acumen, maternal devotion, and deeply rooted Christian faith. Dianne has spent decades transforming the civic landscape of Guymon, leaving an indelible mark as a pioneering businesswoman and an exemplary citizen.

Her lifelong heart for service has not gone unnoticed. In recognition of her exceptional civic contributions, Dianne was honored with Guymon’s revered Dale Citizenship Award, and her peers proudly named her both Rotarian of the Year and Ambassador of the Year. Dianne’s leadership extends to the very pillars of our community’s infrastructure; she championed local commerce as the Chamber Board President and protected regional health and wellness through her years of dedicated service on the Memorial Hospital of Texas County Board and Foundation. Through these roles and countless other quiet contributions, Dianne has woven a legacy of care and integrity that continues to inspire us every day.
 

For over 47 years, Dianne has been a guiding force in the accounting industry, building a stellar reputation rooted in trust and unmatched continuity. Over nearly half a century, she has had the unique privilege of welcoming generations of clients and their families, watching their businesses flourish and their personal legacies grow alongside her own. While her most cherished memories are woven into these multi-generational family bonds, Dianne remains deeply passionate about expanding her circle of care—joyfully welcoming, guiding, and empowering anyone who reaches out for her financial or tax assistance. 

 Peggy Keenan was equally involved in a variety of civic and community organizations holding several leadership roles. Peggy will best be known for her contribution as a city Councilwoman for Guymon, then finally Mayor in 2003 for the great community of Guymon, (OK). She dedicated herself to each project and organization even with the demand and shortage of hours during tax season. 

In December 2021, after decades of dedicated service, Peggy officially retired from the accounting business. At this pivotal juncture, Rick Roberts acquired Peggy’s share of the firm and stepped into his role as a full partner. Looking toward the future, business partners Dianne and Rick reorganized and rebranded the firm in January 2022, establishing the modern name and identity we carry today: Roberts Partners LLC.
